New Patient Information

Here at Watertown Pediatric Dentistry in Watertown, NY, it is our mission to make sure your child is as comfortable as possible while at the dentist. Our office is designed with children in mind. With bright colors, a fun train theme throughout the office, and a waiting room full of toys and books, we want your child to feel at home when they walk through our doors.

Your Child's First Visit

At your child's first visit, we will review your child's health history form with you. Your child will be introduced to members of our dental team and be invited to tour our office. We welcome and highly encourage you to join your child into the treatment area during the initial examination. This will give you the opportunity to see our staff in action and ask the doctor any questions, voice any concerns, or discuss different treatments and care options for your child.

During the exam, Dr. Beuttenmuller will examine your child's head and neck and then evaluate the health of their teeth, gums, and bite. Dental x-rays are taken only when necessary. The cleaning will likely be performed after everything has been demonstrated and explained to them. This helps put your child at ease. If your child needs any additional services, we will schedule it for a later appointment.

Once you make an appointment at our office, that time is exclusively reserved for your child. If, for some reason, your child can no longer make their appointment, please call us with 48 hours notice so that we can reschedule the appointment.

We accept most dental insurance plans, including Delta Dental, MetLife, Medicaid and Child Health Plus, and Health Exchange Programs through Healthplex. Please familiarize yourself with your insurance plan; paying close attention to your benefit maximums, deductibles, and covered percentages. Our staff will prepare all the necessary forms for your dental benefits. However, we remind you that your specific policy is an agreement between you and your insurance company.

Please know that you are responsible for the total obligation should your insurance benefits result in less coverage than anticipated. We do not render our services on the basis that insurance companies will pay all of our fees. We base our treatment on what is best for your child.
